TeachAids launches Free, First-of-its-Kind Concussion Education Toolkit
Stanford, CA –
This Concussion Awareness Day, TeachAids has joined forces with the National Council of Youth Sports, Pop Warner Little Scholars, Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education and 24 National Sport Governing Bodies to announce the availability of free, best in class and customizable product offerings from the award-winning CrashCourse concussion education suite.
To collectively reach 100M youth, parents, and coaches, this research-based partner toolkit series was designed to seamlessly integrate into any sport club’s, business’s or educational group’s programs and methods for training about concussion safety and awareness. These free toolkits are the first known evidence-based solutions developed specifically to meet the needs of sports organizations, schools, hospitals, and clinics across the nation, many of which have unique ways of distributing learning content.
TeachAids developed these offerings after conducting a rigorous, 12-month research project focused on understanding the trends and behaviors of concussion education users. Following a thorough analysis, researchers determined that building free and customized toolkits was needed to further help propagate the use of concussion education across diverse learning environments.
To make these toolkits best in class, additional versions of CrashCourse and its related content were developed utilizing a UX design framework that eliminates pain points, creating a custom, plug-and-play option for every environment. These 22 toolkits come with Mac and PC compatibility, and are 100% free to organizations to use for their every need in distributing concussion awareness and education. The products are available in standard video, interactive video, and virtual reality experiences.
“Any organization, of any size, and with a range of technical capabilities will now be able to utilize this comprehensive concussion education to serve their communities. Whether an organization has a simple webpage or a complex learning management system, or wants to learn in a virtual world, they will find a version of CrashCourse which suits their needs.”
- Dr. Piya Sorcar, founder & chief executive officer of TeachAids
“As an athlete who cares deeply about youth and safety, I’ve been a strong advocate for TeachAids’ CrashCourse concussion education program. These partner toolkits will be an important addition to providing greater accessibility for our sports community.”
- Julie Foudy, FIFA Women's World Cup champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist
“When TeachAids’ CrashCourse concussion education program first launched, nearly two dozen US Olympic Committees Governing Bodies partnered with them immediately to best serve our nation’s leading athletes and sports community. Having these programs utilized across America will be game-changing.”
- Chris Snyder, Former Director of Coaching Education, United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC)
“The response to CrashCourse has been awe-inspiring! I’ve witnessed athletes, parents and coaches rave about the impact of this award-winning concussion education content. I’m thrilled that it’s now available in customized formats for schools across the nation.”
- Michael Krueger, Commissioner for Colorado High School Activities Association
“Ensuring the safety and well-being of our 60 million registered participants in organized youth sports is
our highest priority,” says
Wayne B. Moss, Executive Director, National Council of Youth Sports.
“The launch of the toolkits will be instrumental in helping to more effectively reach our constituents across the nation.”
“Making sure parents, coaches and athletes understand the potential impact of concussions and know how to spot one are critical to making sports safer. That’s why Pop Warner has valued our partnership with TeachAids. We have implemented leading efforts to spot, mitigate and respond to potential head injuries and CrashCourse is an important resource in helping us do that.”
– Jon Butler, Executive Director, Pop Warner Little Scholars
“We’ve partnered with TeachAids for more than a decade now, and their research-based programs have been of the highest quality. Having served some of the largest school districts across the United States, we will promote the CrashCourse programs into our networks to ensure hundreds of thousands of youth and educators have access to this life-changing content. I have no doubt that thousands of students will benefit greatly.”
- Dr. Gary Mukai, Executive Director, Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education
“With support from faculty at Harvard and Stanford, we’ve had the opportunity to study the CrashCourse concussion education programs. It’s undoubtedly the most engaging and effective education out there. Knowing this research-based education will now benefit more people is incredible.”
- Dr. Daniel H. Daneshvar, Chief of Brain Injury Rehabilitation in the Department of PM&R at Harvard Medical School
“Over the past few years, CrashCourse has dramatically improved concussion education across our nation, and beyond. These new product customizations will allow our physicians, athletic trainers, hospitals, and clinics to easily implement the highest quality education to protect our youth.”
- Dr. Gerald A. Grant, Chair, Department of Neurosurgery, Duke University Medical Center
