ALUMNI FEATURE: Aeronautical Engineering Student Annabelle Stube

Annabelle Stube, a Umatilla Pop Warner alum, is an Aeronautical Engineering Student at Embry-Riddle University.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.

I grew up in Umatilla, Florida, and currently attend Embry-Riddle University studying Aeronautical Engineering.

How did you get involved with Pop Warner? Tell us about your time with Pop Warner growing up.

Since I was 5 years old, I cheered for Umatilla Pop Warner – starting on the Tiny Mites and eventually cheering for the Midget football team. I loved my years on the cheer team, working with my friends to hype up the crowd and support our football players.

What lessons from Pop Warner apply and help you in your schooling?

My time with Pop Warner taught me how to work with a team and be adaptable. I have used these skills in team projects, learning new material, and picking up on new skills.

What were your favorite subjects in school growing up?

I always enjoyed math and science growing up, but I was also into art. I always did well in STEM subjects from elementary to high school.

What do you like most about studying Aerospace Engineering?

I love the design elements of engineering. I am gaining the ability to design projects of flight vehicles that could become real machines. I believe this is where my favorite subjects, art and science, fuse to create something really extraordinary.

What do you hope to do with your studies in Aerospace Engineering? Did you always want to study Aerospace Engineering?

I aim for a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering to work at a major aerospace company like NASA. I had not always dreamed of being an engineer, though; I used to want to be an artist or a lawyer. I gradually realized that those career paths were not suited for me, and by the time I was in high school, I had discovered my interest in
engineering.

What is your favorite Pop Warner memory?

My favorite Pop Warner memories are all from regional competitions. The excitement I felt from reaching regionals and trying my hardest regardless of the outcome was the most satisfying experience. I always had fun there with my teammates and friends.
