Pop Warner Again Teams Up with Go4 for Athletic Trainer Support

As the leader in player safety at the youth level, Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc., the nation’s preeminent youth football and cheer organization, partnered with Go4, an online platform that connects certified athletic trainers with sports event operators nationally.

The Go4 platform allows league and association administrators to quickly access local athletic trainers for games and practices. Certified athletic trainers arrive ready to provide necessary medical services, including emergency services, for participants.

The platform can also automatically prepare an emergency action plan with the nearest emergency medical and first responders’ location and contact information listed. In the event of an injury, athletic trainers will complete a HIPAA-compliant report which can be sent directly to the athlete’s guardian or the next clinician in line to improve patient outcome and experience.

“Because nothing is more important than player safety in youth sports, Pop Warner has focused on proper coaching, player education and enhanced play and practice rules,” said Jon Butler, executive director of Pop Warner Little Scholars. “An important aspect of that is having access to well-trained and experienced athletic trainers for game day. That’s why we value our partnership with Go4. With more than 21,000 trainers nationwide, they give Pop Warner associations peace of mind, knowing they have the right medical professional on the sideline all the time.”

Pop Warner has led the way when it comes to instituting player safety measures for young athletes and partnering with Go4 is another step toward making youth sports safer than ever before. All athletic trainers on the Go4 platform are state-licensed, nationally certified, and carry their own professional liability insurance.

K Ellis F Mair, Ed.M., ATC, Chief Clinical Officer at Go4 has recently joined the Pop Warner Medical Advisory Committee, whose mission is to ensure Pop Warner remains proactive on medical issues affecting football and cheer. Go4, and the access it provides to Pop Warner organizations, ties in nicely with that objective.

"I am honored to join the Pop Warner Medical Advisory Committee,” said Mair. “This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with an esteemed group of healthcare professionals dedicated to the health and safety of our Pop Warner participants. We’re thrilled to team up with Pop Warner to assist in their effort to make the sport a safer space for all participants involved. Athletic trainers are highly skilled healthcare providers and are uniquely qualified to assist the members of the Pop Warner community and share in its mission of player safety in a structured competitive environment.”

There is no cost to create an account or extensive paperwork involved, making the connection and hiring process as seamless as possible so work can start within hours after the initial connection. To learn how Go4 can help your organization, click here.
