Pop Warner to Award Over $78,000 in Scholarships at 2007 All-American Scholar Banquet

Pop Warner is pleased to announce that over $78,000 in scholarship money will be awarded at this year's All-American Scholar Banquet in Anaheim, Ca. to deserving scholar-athletes. Thanks to the donations of 26 seperate companies and organizations, this year's scholarship total will once again represent an all-time high total to be handed out to our Senior Scholars.

2007 marks the 15th consecutive year that Pop Warner has awarded its top senior scholars with money for higher education. Furthermore, the award total has continued to grow each year, eclipsing the $78,000 mark this year after initially handing out $6,000 in 1993.

This year's scholarship presentations will also see the companies' total scholarship total surpass the $500,000 mark. These numbers, however, would not be possible if not for the generous donations of numerous companies over the years.

Pop Warner's longest running scholarship provider is Walt Disney World/Disney Sports, who will be presenting scholarships for the 12th straight year. Since 1996, $66,500 has been awarded on behalf of the company. Another longstanding donor is the National Football League Player's Association (NFLPA), who has totaled an incredible $150,000 since 1998.

Several other of Pop Warner's longtime donors include Dan Robinson (Xerox), Marsh, Inc., the Pop Warner Region Directors and ESPN the Magazine, Coaches Fundraising, who have given a combined $71,500 in scholarship money to Senior Scholars.

An All-American Senior Scholar is a First Team recipient in grades 8 and above. They are the only Scholar All-Americans who are eligible for scholarship at the National Levels, however, Pop Warner Leagues and Regions often hold seperate scholastic banquets and may award scholarships to any participants based upon their pre-determined criteria.

This year, 26 companies have given their support to Pop Warner's continued focus scholastic achievement, all will be awarding scholarships at the 2007 banquet. We thank all of our generous scholarship donors for all of their incredible donations and support to our scholar-athletes!
