After recieving a communications degree and working at various radio stations throughout the southeast as a standard "disc jockey". Scott Pinner got his start in professional sports announcing while the morning drive radio host and program director at radio station WDAK AM-540 in Columbus Ga. The local city goverment was in the midst of attempting to secure the Olympic Softball Competition in the 1996 summer games. As construction of the finest softball complex in america got underway, and after securing the softball competition for the summer games, the race was on to secure a PA Announcer. Selected from a pool of 10 different announcers, Scott was Chosen for his dynamic voice, range and sports knowledge. This was just the beginning for the Sportsvoice.
Over the last ten years Scott has been chosen as the announcer for some of the most prestigious sports events in the country. The Southeastern Conference came calling in 1997 and Scott was selected as the announcer for the Southeastern Conference Tournament. Holding this position until the event left the area after the 2001 tournament, the event was taken to the top of softball competition. That same year Scott was the announcer for the NCAA Div 2 National Championship tournament. After adding the Georgia High School Athletic Association Playoffs and All Star games to his growing event list, The NFCA Lead Off Classic chose Scott for all of it's tournaments until 2002 when Scott relocated to Florida to be closer to his growing list of out of state events. www.nfca.com
Softball Magazine added him to their staff in 1999 and he was named "The Voice of Softball in America". Scott joined the staff of Batwars in 1999 as well. Since that time he has been at the helm of the "Rolling Roadshow", the nations top showcase softball event. Batwars has grown from a once a year show to the national traveling entertainment and product showcase it has become. With multiple tour stops all over america, the Batwars event is now "the" event in the softball world. He returns this year again as "The Voice of Batwars" with 5 stops on the calendar for 2005 including a new stop this year in Kentucky. www.batwars.com
In 2002 Walt Disney World got a chance to hear the Sportsvoice and Scott was quickly added to their exclusive entertainment staff. Over the last two years Scott announced grand sporting events at Walt Disney World. Going to the big-time he was selected as the announcer for the 2005 Atlanta Braves spring training games. The most recent announcement from Disney World is that Scott has been chosen as the interview host for ESPN The Weekend. This annual event at MGM Studios is the ultimate sports announcer job. One on one stage interviews with such noted sports figures as NFL stars, Jerry Rice, Kurt Warner, Ty Law, Brian Dawkins and Brian Urlacher along with Olympic athletes Amanda Beard, Bruce Jenner, Mary Lou Retton and many, many more. Scott joined the staff of The University of North Florida in Jacksonville in 2004 to be the play by play voice on radio for the Osprey's. Basketball and the weekly coaches show on WIOJ AM 1010 in Jacksonville are just part of his radio duties. Finishing their last year in the PeachBelt conference, Scott has brought an entire season of radio action to the Osprey nation. The University is the newest member of the A-Sun conference for 2005-2006 as it makes the move to Division 1. www.unfospreys.com
Moving ahead in 2005, Scott has been added to the staff of ESPN and The staff of Sportstalk live at The ESPN Club at Disney's Boardwalk. With Pop Warner inviting him to Anaheim for thier Little Scholars Banquet for 2005 Scott will have tough shoes to fill. The evnt host for 2004 was none other than Lee Corso. Building on an already impressive event list The Sportsvoice will be looking ahead in 2005 for planned announcements of even more prestigious events.
