I am honored to receive this prestigious award. I am blessed to be a part of a Region that has allowed me the opportunity to help train our youth in the value of discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, character, leadership, dedication and academic excellence. In the nine years I have been a part of North Texas, it has been a rewarding experience to work with other volunteers and my family to ensure the success of the next generation. It is a blessing when one can be a part of a program where one's family can and does participate. My husband and I have delighted in watching our children and their team/squad mates grow through out this program. My husband and I will continue to assist and support North Texas Pop Warner even when our children graduate from the program. We will continue to support POPWARNER in its efforts to make a difference in the lives of children and adults throughout the nation

Seeing a child's excitement when they go into a game or when they go on the floor for a competition, seeing a parent watch their child participate for the first or the 1,000th time; these are things that make being a Pop Warner volunteer very easy! I'm honored to have been selected as the Eastern Region's Volunteer of the Year and very proud to be associated with Capital District Pop Warner and the Eastern Region. |

“I am extremely honored to receive this award and to have the privilege of working with the most wonderful children in the Eastern Region. I commend Pop Warner for administrating one of the most successful youth programs in the country. I take great pride in being part of it, for 35 years.” |

"It is a great honor to be recognized by my peers for this award. I am especially grateful to be in the company of my wife (Belinda Jones), last year's Volunteer of the Year. Thank You Southeast Region Pop Warner!" |
|
"Although I'm being honored for what I have given to the Pop Warner program, it is really I who am honored to be part of such a wonderful program. The happiness reflected on the faces of the children who are able to experience Pop Warner is truly the ultimate reward for the countless hours of work and definitely make it all worthwhile. Thank you for allowing me to be part of the best organization in the world!" |

"My original affiliation with Pop Warner was as a coach with the Salvation Army Indians under the red sheild Boys and Girls Club about 38 years ago. After my sons and daughter out grew the program, there was and still is a need for mature adult leadership. The program is more demanding, stronger, and beneficial to both adults and children at this present time. It has been my pleasure and delight to offer mentorship and guidance to so many boys and girls and also young men and women (as coaches) in the role of President of the Tiny Indian Organization." |

I have to say that being Volunteer of the Year has both astounded and amazed me. I never dreamed that I would receive such an honor. I have held many positions within our Kernersville Raiders Organization and must say that coaching cheerleaders has to be the most challenging and rewarding position that I have held. I try to be a role model for them and to teach them that teamwork, self-esteem, and pride in everything you do will take you far in life. Although, my children aged out of the program in 1998 - we were National Champions that year - we continue the dream "as coaches" together. Hopefully, we have inspired some of them to do the same and to come back as role models for the younger ones. Being nominated and awarded Volunteer of the Year is an honor that I will appreciate and be proud of for the rest of my life. Thank you!!!! |

From
Lynda Brunswick, Michael's wife - We lost Michael at the end of February very suddenly. I can't begin to tell you how much this means to me and his family. We are so proud of him. He genuinely loved coaching and he loved to coach the little guys. He was so even tempered and fun that the kids just loved him. I have been involved in Pop Warner for 10 years have had many amazing experiences |
