Future for KIDS reaches an agreement with Pop Warner Little Scholars
Since 1991, Rodney Smith has made running youth sports camps a top priority in his life with over 88 successful camps ran all over the country. This partnership allows Future for KIDS to “partner-up” with an organization who already specializes in making a difference in children's lives through sports and education!!!
The goal for 2005 is to run a minimum of 5 camps in five different NFL cities. More camps will be added if the necessary funds can be raised.
The dates, times and format of the three-day camps that will feature NFL Athletes, College Players, College and High School Coaches will be released shortly. Most of the camps will take place in June and July due to the pro athletes summer schedule.
Our Youth Sports Camps are open to boys and girls ages 8 to 14, without regard to race, color, creed, or religious affiliations. Attendance at our camps are open to all children. We recognize the multitude of struggles facing families at all economic levels and the challenge parents face in raising their children in a continually changing world. We provide special scholarships and financial assistance for children who would otherwise be unable to attend camp.
The inactivity of our nation's young people is a growing concern of health professionals, parents and educators. Our youth sports and education camps takes a multi-pronged approach to encouraging kids to be more active by emphasizing the fundamental role of youth team sports as activities of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Camps are designed to not only encourage improvement of skills but to challenge the participants to truly enjoy playing the game and to respect those with whom they play. Kids are motivated to understand goal setting and being their complete best, as an athlete and as a responsible and active young person.
