LANGHORNE, PA (Nov 15, 2017) – Pop Warner Little Scholars, the nation’s premier youth football organization, has announced six finalists for its 8th Annual Pop Warner College Football Award. The award was established in 2010 to recognize a graduating senior who has made a difference on the field, in the classroom and in his community, involvement that Pop Warner emphasizes with its own student athletes.

The 2017 Finalists Include:

  • University of Miami Wide Receiver Braxton Berrios
  • Stanford University Offensive Lineman David Bright
  • Auburn University Kicker Daniel Carlson
  • Wake Forest University Defensive End Wendell Dunn
  • University of Virginia Linebacker Micah Kiser
  • Notre Dame Linebacker Drue Tranquill

The Pop Warner College Football Award is presented December 7 during the annual Pop Warner Super Bowl at Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, FL. Last year’s winner was former University of Mississippi and current New York Giants tight end Evan Engram.

“One of the things that makes college football so special is the collection of outstanding student-athletes who excel on and off the field as they represent themselves, their schools and their communities with distinction,” said Jon Butler, executive director of Pop Warner Little Scholars. “The Pop Warner College Football Award honors one student-athlete whose play, commitment to academics and service to the community represents the ideals of the sport. This year we’re proud of an extraordinary group of finalists from some of the nation’s finest universities.”
