ATLANTA, GA – Scott Pinner, who serves as the "Voice of Pop Warner," recently accepted a new position as the co-host of the morning talk show, "Mornings with Scooter & Wanda," at 92.5 FM the Bear located in the Greater Atlanta area.
92.5 The Bear is the only South Atlanta Metro radio station that is live and local throughout the day, and their signal reaches to more than 1,250,000 people in the south metro area. Pinner and co-host Wanda Woodard are live on the air daily from 6 a.m.-10 a.m. (Listen Live)
"Its really exciting to be part of the new morning show on WEKS 92.5 the Bear in Atlanta," said Pinner. "This is a great country station and being tapped as the new co-host of the morning show is a great honor for me."
Pinner began his duties with Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. back in 2004 as the announcer for the National Cheer and Dance Championships, a role he has assumed ever since. Soon after, Pinner also took over as the announcer for the annual Pop Warner Scholastic Banquet in May 2005, where he followed in the footsteps of ESPN's Lee Corso.
Since that time Scott has gone on to become the "Voice of Pop Warner" as the official Master of Cermonies for all major Pop Warner events.
Pinner got his start in professional sports announcing and broadcasting while the morning drive radio host and program director at radio station WDAK AM-540, The Sportsmonster in Columbus Georgia, after receiving a communications degree and working at various radio stations throughout the Southeast as a country and classic rock “disc jockey.” While serving as the Program Director for AM 540 WDAK Scott was also the play by play voice of the Columbus Reddstixx, a AA affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. Play by play work followed in various formats including high school football, baseball and basketball.
Over the last fifteen years Scott has been chosen as the public address announcer and broadcaster for some of the most prestigious sporting events in the country. In 1997, the Southeastern Conference selected Scott as the announcer for the Southeastern Conference Tournament; a position he filled until the event left the area in 2001. That same year Scott was the announcer for the NCAA Div 2 National Championship tournament. After adding the Georgia High School Athletic Association Playoffs and All Star games to his growing event list, The NFCA Lead Off Classic chose Scott for all of it's tournaments until 2002 when Scott relocated to Florida to be closer to the growing contingent of fans, teams and associatiSoftball Magazine added him to their staff in 1999 and he was named “The Voice of Softball in America.” Scott joined the staff of Batwars in 1999 and since that time he has been at the helm of the “Rolling Roadshow”, the nations top showcase softball event. Batwars has grown from it's beginnings as a once annual event into the national traveling entertainment and product showcase it has become. With multiple tour stops all over America , the Batwars event is now “the” event in the softball world.
In 2002 Walt Disney World got a chance to hear Scott and he was quickly added to their exclusive entertainment staff. For three years Scott has announced all manner of grand sporting events at Walt Disney World. The Atlanta Braves selected Scott as the PA announcer for the 2005 spring training season at Disney's Wide World of Sports. Scott again returned in 2006 for the Braves and also was the announcer for The inaugural World Baseball Classic for Major League Baseball. His major league baseball duties in 2005 and 2006 also include the Houston Astro's as well, where he assisted with their announcer duties.
In 2004-2005, Scott was chosen as the network director and radio play-by-play voice of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville . Along with color analyst Tom Strother, the radio duo broadcast a weekly high-lite and coaches show, as well as all of UNF basketball and baseball games locally on WIOJ AM1010 and worldwide via the web. Scott and Tom were able to bring a full slate of sports action to Osprey fans.
Scott is now also the network director and play-by-play voice of Softball Central, and Baseball Central the newest multi-media addition to the softball and youth baseball world. Softball Central covers the softball world complete with live broadcast of the biggest softball games and events in America, while Baseball Central is the broadcast arm of youth baseball around the country.
In January and February of 2006 Scott worked with Sunshine Network in Florida as the play by play host for the broadcast of the ISA Winternationals softball championships. As the play by play voice for this televised tournament, Scott made his Fox Sports Florida debut in March 2006.
Scott has worked with ESPN on several occasions having been the host of the Post Game Interview portion of the 2005 ESPN The Weekend at Disney's MGM Studios.
Scott has also been an announcer for the 2005 and 2006 Battle of The Gridiron Stars. An ESPN original production.
