Franklin Chargers' Craig Anderson One of 5 Finalists for First Ever Earn Your Stripes™ Youth Achievement Award

Craig Anderson, a 7th grader at Annie Sullivan Middle School in Franklin, MA and member of the Franklin Charger's Pop Warner program, is one of 5 nominees from across the country for the first ever Youth Achievement Award.  Craig was originally nominated for consideration for this award by the Franklin Chargers Pop Warner Organization.

He has played Pop Warner football for 4 years, and has been active in Franklin Youth Baseball, Rec. Basketball and Metrowest Basketball.  He’s been an Honor Roll student throughout Middle School, is a member of Student Council, is in the school band, and has been an Honorable Mention All-American Scholar for the past 2 years.   After having completed 3 essay questions to enter this contest, Craig was interviewed by phone extensively, and was ultimately chosen to be one of 5 youth athletes from across the country to compete for this honor.

In April, a film crew spent the day videotaping Craig, along with many of his teammates and coaches, at the High School Athletic Field.  Videotaping culminated in a “Video Award Short” that’s posted on the contest website May 24th  through June 15th, along with  videos made of the other 4 contestants.  The public votes for their favorite, with the top vote getter winning a trip to the ESPY Awards in July and being honored with the first ever Youth Achievement Award, presented at a special ESPY breakfast.

The contest is intended to spotlight regular kids, who work hard to achieve their goals on and off the field, and exemplify 5 Golden Rules of Sportsmanship.   The contest and award is sponsored by Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes.  Please visit the contest website to vote: www.espn.com/earnyourstripes
Please log onto the contest website, watch his video, and VOTE.  Feel free to distribute this information to anyone and everyone who might support our efforts to have an athlete from the Pop Warner Organization receive national recognition that so many of the participants deserve!!  You may vote once every 24 hours, per computer.  Thanks for your support!
