Nominations are now open for PCA’s 2010 Double-Goal Coach Award, presented by Liberty Mutual, honoring coaches whose first goal is winning, and whose second, more-important goal is teaching life lessons through sports.

This annual award honors and recognizes coaches from throughout the United States, whose actions and programs not only teach players athletic skills but also help them to develop skills that will serve them well throughout their lifetimes.

How do I nominate a coach?
Nominate your coach online. If you prefer to submit a hard copy nomination, download a printable nomination form.

What does the nomination require?
Each nomination consists of testimonials completed by both the Nominator and by a minimum of three and a maximum of five individuals who are familiar with the nominee's coaching experience. Testimonials can be submitted by current or former players, parents of players, youth sports administrators or others. (If the nominees's team includes athletes younger than high-school age, at least one of the testimonials should be written by an adult.)

When can nominations be submitted?
PCA accepts nominations until November 30th each year for awards granted early in the next year. Nominations can be submitted to:

How will the winners be selected?
PCA staff will select award finalists from received nominations. The Double-Goal Coach Award Selection Committee - composed of elite college coaches who exemplify the Positive Coach Mental Model - will select the finalists.  Award finalists will be notified in January and winners will be announced in February.  Award winners will receive a $250 cash award, a trophy, and recognition on the PCA website and PCA’s e-newsletter Connector.
