Power of Sports Episode 10 (Dallas) Highlights Oak Cliff Titans Pop Warner

The latest episode of the sports philanthropy program, Power of Sports, highlights such programs as the Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers and Pop Warner Little Scholars.

Following nine inspiring episodes highlighting some of the amazing philanthropic work being done in cities like New Orleans, Nashville, the Twin Cities, Tampa Bay and most recently Phoenix, Power of Sports, presented by Group One Thousand One and hosted by Rick Horrow, launches Episode 10, focused on Dallas, Texas.

This month’s City Pulse segment highlights how local programs, such as the Texas Rangers’ Youth Academy and FC Dallas’ Pitch Development Program, are building new sports facilities to give youth access to fields that rival some of the best in the country. “What we’re trying to do is transform these young people and transform this community,” says Karin Morris, VP of Community Outreach for the Texas Rangers. Additionally, the Dallas Mavericks strive to enhance learning at a critical age for kids through their Science of Basketball program, a camp for elementary school teachers that educates them about the science and math behind basketball that they can then pass on to their students.

The episode also features local game-changer, Bobby Ransom, coach and athletic director of the Oak Cliff Titans. His career as a coach with Pop Warner has helped dozens of athletes go on to play collegiately and professionally while growing into positive members of the community.

Other organizations, such as First Tee of Greater Dallas and Fields & Futures, are also recognized for their focus on providing kids with a safe environment to experience the power of sports in both Dallas and Oklahoma City.

Episode 10 will be airing throughout the month of June on FOX Sports Southwest and FOX Sports affiliates nationwide. Check local listings for availability and show times.
