LANGHORNE, PA – Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc., the nation’s oldest and most prominent youth football organization, and Riddell, a premier designer and developer of protective sports equipment, today announced a new partnership that unites two of the most storied brands in football.
Under the new partnership, Pop Warner is now an "official youth football partner of Riddell," and Riddell becomes Pop Warner’s "official protective equipment and reconditioning provider."
Both founded in 1929, Pop Warner and Riddell have a shared legacy in the sport and are shaping the future of football.
The agreement is part of Pop Warner’s initiative to forge relationships with the most forward-thinking companies in sports as they collectively work to enhance the youth football experience for young athletes across the country.
“This partnership brings together two organizations that share a passion for creating better ways for young athletes to enjoy the great sport of football,” said Jon Butler, Pop Warner’s executive director. “Much the same way Pop Warner has implemented initiatives to improve youth football, Riddell has led the industry in developing innovative technology and protective equipment.”
“Riddell applauds Pop Warner’s ongoing commitment to education through sport, as well as the steps it has taken to move the game of football forward,” said Kyle Borland, Riddell’s vice president of institutional sales. “We welcome this opportunity to work closely with Pop Warner and its participants to improve athlete protection and further support youth football in communities across the country.”
Commencing the partnership this December, Riddell will participate in the 59th Pop Warner Super Bowl where the company will outfit the D1 Midget finalists with new helmets for the nationally televised ESPNU broadcast. Riddell will also showcase these helmets and other protective equipment in the Pop Warner Sponsor Village.
