White Oak continues to Roll

The White Oak Warriors are back in the Pop Warner Super Bowl, and ready to repeat as National Champion. In 2002, White Oak rolled through the Jr. Midget Division en route to a national title. This year, they are back with the same core of players and is looking good in the Midget Division.

With a 39-0 win today over the Wainae Tigers (HI), the Warriors improved to 13-0 this year. However, what's even more impressive is that they have scored an incredible 340 points, while give up only 14! Now that's impressive!

"The chemistry on this team is unreal," said White Oak head coach Micheal Wills. "We have all been together since they were just 10 years old, it is a great bunch of kids."

The Warriors came in rolling today, and managed to dominate the game in all facets. They Warriors lit up the scoreboard in the first half with 33 points, holding the Tigers to about 30 yards of total offense.

"We all just understand each other," said Wills. Most of the time, I dont even call defensive plays. They just read the play, and adjust."

The secong hald featured a lot of defense, and just 8-points of offense. Both teams, however, played hard until the very end of the game.

"Nobody was thinking about this team," said Tigers head coach Tovio AhVan. "It is such an honor to be here at the National Championships, I see a lot of heart and talent in our kids. Hats off to both teams."

The Warriors advance to the second round and to face the Cedar Crest Comets (TX), who squeaked out a 13-12 victory over the first year program, the Columbus Daystars. That game will take place on Wednesday, December 8 at 1:00. The Tigers will play in the consolation game on Wednesday, at 1:00 as well against the Daystars.
